Custom 1956 Relicaster
I'm selling this for a friend in town that has a slew of cool guitars and an even larger slew of computer / financial problems. This is a custom made 1956
Relicaster. Its is 6.2 pounds ...has a maple flamey maple that is reshaped by hand to a slight V shape.
The nitro paint is very checked on the neck and body and in person it looks **absolutely convincing** =even by local experts= as a 50 year old paintjob that
you would find on a vintage guitar. The body MAY possibly be an actual old Alder Fender of some sort or a-custom-made- to- the- T-clone of a 56 body. It has
the lip, curves, flaws and even pin router holes on the rear with the paint checked over the top of it... I nor anyone else on the web forums has seen this sort
of detail on a body on ANY relic by ANY company. I believe it is dated 8/56 in the bridge pickup pocket and the paint is check over that as well. The rest of the details are as follows:
-
the pickups are a combination of 1 Seymour Duncan and 1 Fender they have reverse polarity and in the center position act like a humbucker. The neck pickup does not use the tone control capacitor and sounds like a strat.
-
Most screws are actual old vintage screws,
-
the Switch tip is old Daka-ware, pots and capacitor are from a 50's Fender lap steel,
-
the neck plate is a Stainless Steel Calliham with 5 digit serial number.
-
the rest of the the hardware is genine Fender.
-
vintage correct pin router hole dowells
-
REAL METALLIC FOIL waterslide decal on top of the clear coat. Tinted with correct outline shape and positioned correctly.
This is an astounding custom made guitar that took over 2 years to complete and would normally sell for 3,300 dollars. Packaged professionally with gig bag.
**UPDATE**: The only small details that keep this form being 100% vintage correct are easily changable - the addition of brass saddles and rounded knobs. (vs. flat knobs & threaded saddles).
Shipping 35. USA / 65 Canada / 120 Europe France& UK / 145 Australia - Japan
This is only the third complete guitar that the builder has ever sold, the lacquer checking is consistant on the body and neck
AND has sunk into the wood to show the grain.
