Lot of 58 Reel to Reels From the Estate of Jim Cushman
These reels and others I am selling all belonged to
the late Jim Cushman. Listed here are a few those items. He was a
leading projectionist in Hollywood for Phoenix Pictures, TriStar, Orion
and Universal. He also served as personal projectionist for Alfred
Hitchcock and Mike Medavoy. (I have many personal items that belonged
to Alfred Hitchcock that I will be listing in the future.) Jim Cushman
bequeathed some of his items to a friend of mine. The article about Jim
Cushman can be found on the Variety Magazine website. I have provided a
link to it for you below. He was a music aficionado and took good care
of his music.
1) Scotch Sound Recording Tape Box A– Full roll. No leader. The box is in fine condition. Has a tape recording of KMPC from 1952.
2) Scotch Sound Recording Tape (3) Boxes B – Box 1 has full leader and wrapped in plastic. Has Judy Garland on spine tag. Hinge and box in fine condition. Box 2 is missing leader, but is a full roll. Hinge is fine and has Johnny Mathis on spine tag. Box 3 has full leader. Hinge in fine condition. Has Jack Hylton and Boswell Sisters – 1951 on spine tag.
3) Scotch Sound Recording Tape Box C – Hinge and box in fine condition. Full tape with leader, wrapped in plastic. Has Busby Berkeley Soundtrack on spine tag.
4) Scotch Sound Recording Tape 208 Box D – No leader. Box is still in good condition.
5) Scotch Sound Recording Tape 203 (6) Boxes E – Box 1 has no leader. Box is still in good condition with some signs of fray at corner edges. Hinge is fine. The Beatles on spine tag. Box 2 has no leader. Box is still in good condition with some signs of fray at corner edges. Hinge is fine. Has Barbara Streisand and Dionne Warwick on spine tag. Box 3 has no leader. Box is still in good condition with some signs of fray at corner edges. Hinge is fine. Has John Mayall, Nilsson, Cat Stevens, Bowie, Electric Light Orchestra and Loggins and Messina on spine tag. Box 4 has no leader. Box is still in good condition with some signs of fray at corner edges. Hinge is fine. Has Rothschild’s – Purlie, Desert Song, War & Peace, Dames At Sea, Zorba the Greek and Peggy Lee on spine tag. Box 5 has no leader. Box is still in good condition with some signs of fray at corner edges. Hinge is fine. Has Oklahoma, Carousel, South Pacific and House of Flowers on spine tag. Box 6 has no leader and a few feet of tape missing. Box is still in good condition with some signs of fray at corner edges. Hinge is fine. Has Cat Stevens, Don McLean and Maria Muldaur on spine tag.
6) Scotch Sound Recording Tape Highlander 60 (3) Boxes F – Box 1 has no leader. Box is still in good condition with some signs of fray at corner edges. Hinge is fine. Has Carly Simon, Paul McCartney, Traditional Jazz and Peaches on spine tag. Box 2 has no leader. Box is still in good condition with some signs of fray at corner edges. Hinge is fine. Has Boswell Sisters, Bert Ambrose and Sidney Bechet on spine tag. Box 3 has no leader. Box is still in good condition with some signs of fray at corner edges. Hinge is fine. Has Fletcher Henderson 1927 – 1936 on spine tag.
7) Scotch Sound Recording Tape 203 (2) Boxes G – Box 1 has no leader. Box has dent and crease at lower left corner. Hinge is still attached but is shoeing some fray. Shows wear, but intact. Film Themes and Los Indios Tabajaras on spine tag. Box 2 has no leader. Box shows some surface wear. Hinge is fine, but showing some edge wear. Has In Flight / Film Themes on spine tag.
8) Scotch Recording Tape Tartan Series 141 (2) Boxes H – Box 1 no leader. Spin has tag missing and some paper missing. Hinge is fine with some edge wear. Box 2 has no leader. This is box was created without hinge. Some splits at two corners. No spine tag.
9) Scotch Magnetic Tape 150 Box I - Has no leader. Box is still in good condition with some signs of fray at corner edges. Hinge is fine with some fray at edges. Has Vol. 5 Broadcasting / Old records 1925-1946 and Pedro Infante on spine tag.
10) Scotch Magnetic Tape 111 (2) Boxes J – Box 1 - Has no leader. Box is still in great condition. Hinge is fine with some fray at edges. Has James Bond and Paint Your Wagon on spine tag. Box 2 Has no leader. Box is still in great condition. Hinge is fine with some fray at edges. Has Radio on spine tag.
11) Scotch Recording Tape 212 Box K – Full leader. Case in excellent condition.
12) Scotch Recording Tape 207 (2) Boxes L – Box 1 and Box 2 Full leader. Cases in excellent condition.
13) Ampex Recording Tape 531 (2) Boxes M – Box 1 Has no leader. Some feet of tape missing. Hinge intact. Some minor wear to box. Some paper missing at top of box. Has Buddy Cole Show Tunes on spine tag. Box 2 - Has no leader, but full tape. Hinge not attached. Box shows some wear at edges and corners. Has Huddie Ledbetter (Leadbelly) 1941 Woman Blues, Fats Waller / Merle Haggard Salute to Bob Wills. Box contains paper clippings and other info about Leadbelly.
14) Ampex Recording Tape (2) Reels M1 – Unknown type. No leader.
15) Tonecrest Recording Tape Box N – No leader. Box shows wear. Splits at corners. No hinge. Has Betty Boop, Beniamino Gigli, Blackbirds, Stars of Broadway 1930 on spine tag.
16) Sivertone Standard Tape Box O – No leader. Full tape. Card inside box reads Oscar Wildes Fairy Tale and The Remarkable Rocket.
17) Premier Magnetic Recording Tape Box P - Box in fine shape. No leader.
18) Emerald Recording Tape Box Q – No leader. Box and hinge in fine shape. Has Sunset Boulevard on spine tag.
19) Irish Tape Box R – Box shows wear and age. Some splits at corners. No leader. Has Napoleon – Valses and Jorge Nigrete on spine tag.
20) Blank Cover Tapes (2) Boxes S – Box with writing on cover has hinge and full reel without leader. Blank box has half reel and hinge. Both boxes in good condition.
21) Melody Magnetic Tape (2) Boxes T – Box 1 no leader. No hinge. Box in good condition. Has Jack Benny Golden Years of Radio, Burns and Allen, Amos and Andy, Ed, Archie, Gardner on spine tag. Box 2 shows wear and tear. No leader ¾ reel. Recording unknown.
22) Realistic Supertape 1800 (2) Boxes U – Both boxes have hinges and in good condition. No leaders on either reels. Full reels. Recordings unknown.
23) Scotch Magnetic Tape 111- 5 inch Reel (3) Boxes V – Boxes are all in good shape with hinges. No leaders. Box 1 has Mark Spoelstra and The Band on spine tag. Box 2 has Janis Ian and Liza Minnelli on spine tag. Box 3 has Missa Luba on spine tag.
24) Scotch Magnetic Tape 202 & Scotch Magnetic Tape RB-5 -5 inch Reel (2) Boxes Box W – Scotch Magnetic Tape 202 - No leader. Box and hinge in good condition. R&B written on spine. Scotch Magnetic Tape RB-5 -5 inch Reel – No leader. Recording unknown.
25) Realistic Mylar (4) Boxes X – Boxes 1 (2) – 3600 ft. One reel appears not to be a full reel. No leader. Hinge OK. Jazz Singer, Desert Song, So This Is Love, Rose Marie 1936, Sinatra Dorsey on spine label. The other reel is full with no leader. Hinge OK. Has War of the Worlds, I Know That We Can Make It and Skatt Brothers on the spine Label. Box 2 2400ft has no hinge. Some wear on box and corner split. No leader. Has The Sting, Dillinger, Jesse Matthews 1935-1937, Fiddler, MASH, Manhattan Tower and Funny Girl on spine label. Box 3 1800ft hinge OK. No leader. Has Jack Teagarden, Play Misty for Me, Women in Love, Artie Shaw, The Beguiled and Butch Cassidy on spine label.
26) TDK Tape Reels (3) Boxes Y – One reel without box, but will ship with extra box I have. Type and recording unknown. Box 1 TDK S-1200 box in great condition. No leader. Has Evita London Production, House Flowers on spine label. Box 2 TDK LX 35/90 box in great condition. Full leader intact. Has 45 rpm Vol. 5 on spine label.
27) Able Turntable & Tape & Blank Box (2) Boxes Z – 5 inch reels. Box 1 Able Turntable & Tape box is in great condition. No leader. Has recording but can’t make out handwriting on spine. Box 2

I accept Pay Pal as my payment method as this recently has become mandatory due to revised eBay policy.
I expect payment within 7 days as defined by EBay policy. Granted, circumstances occurring in ones life require your immediate attention - a car accident, health issue, family crisis or what have you. I understand this. Just let me know that you are being challenged.
If I don’t hear from you, I wait the required 7 days and then file an unpaid item dispute stating that I have not heard from the buyer. I am VERY understanding and if you don’t want the item, can’t pay for it or whatever just let me know. Stuff happens in life. With that in mind I will just continue the dispute process by closing the item as “mutually agreed” and that will be it. I am not sure what EBay does on their end with your account standing on EBay, but from my end I will consider the matter closed. I will not and never have given negative or demeaning feedback unless a tremendous abuse has occurred. So far in my 4 years of selling on EBay that has never happened.
Once payment is received I post positive feedback. I also ask that once you receive your item and you are satisfied that you follow suit and provide the same. If you are not satisfied, contact me immediately, and we can work out the details of a return.

I primarily ship my items using the United States Postal service. I ship worldwide. I offer many shipping options for you within my listing. If you prefer UPS, FedEx than let me know if it is not visible within the shipping method section of my listing.
PLEASE NOTE: eBay has changed their shipping policy where I have to list the cost of shipping for each item. With some items this is not possible. Art, for example. Some buyers would like the print, frame and glass shipped, some just the print and frame and others just the print. It is impossible from my end to determine the potential buyers request before hand. So you will see in some of my art listings, "Free Shipping". This means I will ship just the print for free. If you desire print, frame and glass or just print and frame, you will need to let me know at time of purchase and I will have it properly weighed and email you a revised invoice reflecting the changes.
Fine art and other extremely valuable items are professionally packaged for shipment. I am open to the buyers request for how they would like these types of items prepared for packaging and shipment.
PLEASE NOTE: For other items I recycle. I believe our Earth is in danger and I do my part to help keep her healthy and clean. So I ship in boxes I collect from my local hardware store and other locations. I wrap your item in loads of bubble wrap and/or newspaper that I also recycle. I purchase boxes and bubble wrap only when none is available during my collections. When your package arrives it may not look perfect or pretty, but I can assure you it will arrive safely and in perfect condition.
I HIGHLY suggest you, as a buyer, become aware of the various shipping methods offered by the USPS and the length of time each service takes for an item to arrive at your doorstep. You may visit the USPS or UPS website to learn more about this. I sell many items that are media related and offer that shipping option within my listings – but PLEASE NOTE – though shipping Media Mail is the cheapest, it is also the slowest. It takes longer to reach you.
I also HIGHLY suggest you purchase insurance so if there is a problem your money can be refunded to you. On very expensive items insurance will be necessary. Once I hand off the package to USPS or UPS, based upon YOUR choice, it is out of my hands and in theirs. We all know that on rare occasions things shipped can get lost.
I include a .75 charge (that the US Post Office charges me) within my EBay shipping and handling fees to pay for shipping and receiving confirmation on all items I send. I DO NOT gouge my customers with excessive shipping fees. I DO NOT make money off of you by charging high shipping costs. I include a minimal handling fee to cover my costs for the time and expense it takes to wrap,package, label and ship your item to you.
When I receive notification from Pay Pal that payment has been received I follow to the letter what you, the buyer, have chosen as your shipping method and the instructions you have provided. I also ship to the address that you, the buyer, have supplied to Pay Pal. So please make sure your shipping address is current within your Pay Pal account. Any questions or problems please contact me.
RETURNS: You may return any purchase, within 14 days of receipt, at your expense, for a refund of your purchase price (winning bid, Best Offer, or Buy It Now price paid).
If there was an error on my end, I will refund all shipping costs.
I am extremely detailed in my listings and you are invited to email me as many times as you like to find out more about the item you are interested in purchasing. I am very prompt in answering your questions and will even take extra detailed images of the item, if you wish, and email them to you.
INSURANCE:I offer insurance as an OPTION within my listings as it is your choice as to whether or not you want your item insured. On expensive items I am selling, it is necessary. If your item arrives broken due to mishandling by the shipping company then there is no way to way to reimburse your loss, if you have not purchased insurance.
